True, he is in thrall with the passive voice. His pages are heavy with it. But, I think it's only when the reader spends significant time with Beckett does he begin to make sense... and then only when one rewrites entire paragraphs to make them sensible. I think that's the right way to enjoy Beckett, rewriting his stuff. Oh, but then I have so much of my own stuff to rewrite. Ugh. P.S. What are we doing up so early?
