Ah, excuses. The hardest part I'm finding is that once I get writing (As for now my head's above water with 26,418 words - but who's counting?) ALL the creative juices are flowing. I want to go back to making bagels from scratch, reorganizing my writing area, cleaning out the basement...

Surprisingly, for the past year (or more) I've told myself I just couldn't find the time to write. Since November 1st, I've not only found the time, but am managing to do all the stuff I did before as well as a few new things. I haven't taken a look back to see where in the world I was wasting all that time.

Biggest hurdle ahead is that I am really going to have to do a little research and organizing to plow ahead on my novel. Research is generally my downfall that I end up researching myself write out of the writing mode. So, I plan to do it JUDICIOUSLY and I guess those bagels will just have to wait until December - when I've sworn I'm going to start my blog...

Why am I not writing now? Well, that's another excuse all together...

Good luck everyone on your own writing path!

@Alex I just left a comment on the Someday relapse post. This happens to be my busiest time of year in the work-a-day world and so I really understand.

I hope you'll get back to your novel at some point, and I'll probably keep asking you about it until you unfollow me on Twitter. ;)

I ended up taking a hard look at my business and deciding that I need to completely redo all my marketing stuff and start earning some income off my blog.

It's such a great excuse to not write that I've actually put my novel aside for now.

It's started - I'm partway through chapter 3 and I know where to go, but my head in is business writing mode, so I don't want to end up writing a business novel ;)

My most recent excuses have been that I've been sick and that I am just not into the plot I chose. Instead of mucking through, it's easier to write on other projects. I am still seriously considering staring something different and at least aiming for 25,000 words by the end of November.

Oh, my most recent excuse is that I'm not fully caffeinated to get down to writing. It's the lamest excuse of all because if I were any more caffeinated someone would certainly call an ambulance and have me carted off to the cardiac center or the loony bin (or both but not necessarily in that order). :)

Hey all. What are some of your most recent excuses? Do you think you'll incorporate them into your novel-in-progress?
